“All tyrannies rule through fraud and force, but that once the fraud is exposed they must rely exclusively on force.” George Orwell
First of all, what is the NDAA? It’s the National Defense Authorization Act. It’s been passed by Congress for the last 48 years, and it basically sets out the budget for the military and the Department of Defense for upcoming fiscal year. Sounds like a pretty boring bill for the general public to pay attention to. Why am I even mentioning it here? We should be talking about hound hunting, and blowing things up.
Unfortunately for every citizen of this once great nation, this year Congress decided to slip a little something extra into the bill. You see, in sections 1021, 1022, 1031 and 1032 there are extra provisions which directly violate the Constitution of the United States of America in that they allow for indefinite detention for American citizens. That’s right, with the passing of NDAA this year you will lose your right to a trial by jury. You will now be able to be detained by the U.S. Military on United States soil for an indefinite period of time, without ever being charged with anything. It eliminates the very foundations that the country was built on, and destroys Habeus Corpus.
1) Explicitly authorize the federal government to indefinitely imprison without charge or trial American citizens and others picked up inside and outside the United States;
(2) Mandate military detention of some civilians who would otherwise be outside of military control, including civilians picked up within the United States itself; and
(3) Transfer to the Department of Defense core prosecutorial, investigative, law enforcement, penal, and custodial authority and responsibility now held by the Department of Justice.
The government will also be able to use the United States Military on US soil if the bill passes. They will be able to do so by declaring regions of the United States as “battlefields” in their ever ambiguous and poorly defined “War on Terror”. The Government posses the capability to call anything “terrorism” and is using that justification to invade country after country, and as is stated by this bill, will be bringing that fight to our doorsteps soon enough.
And I’m sure your thinking, “No, just because some radical Senator introduces a bill like this doesn’t mean it will pass.” Well, tough luck for us, because the bill passed the Senate 93-7. That’s right, pretty much unanimous support from both sides of our “two party” system. Two sides of the same coin, exactly. No fear, though, there is a presidential election coming up, and i’m sure one of the Republican nominees will save us, right?? Only one has spoken out against the gross violations of our rights this bill includes, and it’s Ron Paul. I doubt many of you are surprised. He spoke out on Tuesday against the bill on Alex Jones’s popular radio show, and thankfully RT reported on it:
“I very strongly believe this should satisfy the administration and hope it will,” added Levin.
Outside of the independent media, opposition to NDAA has remained almost nonexistent, with the mainstream neglecting to discuss the colossal implications the bill would have if it is signed into law. Speaking to radio host Alex Jones on Tuesday, however, Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul finally became one of the first main figures to attack the act.
“This is a giant step – this should be the biggest news going right now – literally legalizing martial law,” said Paul. The congressman from Texas also appeared flabbergasted that the bill managed to escape discussion in any of the recent GOP debates, despite its provisions being detrimental to the US Constitution and the freedom of every man, woman and child in America.
“This is big,” continued Paul, adding “This step where they can literally arrest American citizens and put them away without trial….is arrogant and bold and dangerous.”
We make no secret of supporting Ron Paul around here, but come on. How can you not when NOBODY ELSE has even a basic grasp of the rights God gave to us, that our government is stripping away. Every other Republican nominee besides Gary Johnson has no issue with this bill passing, and we all know our esteemed Teleprompter in Chief will sign this so quick your head will spin when it lands on his desk, which will probably be this week. The state our nation is frightening when people still utter phrases like “I support Barrack Obama”, or “Newt Gingrich would make a great president”. Two men who support this type of BS. This years NDAA is available here and I urge you to be aware of the rights your losing. That way you can tell your grandchildren what a great nation this used to be with some degree of accuracy.
